A Heartfelt Thank You to Dr Pravin Prathip and His Wonderful Team I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Dr Pravin Prathip and his wonderful team for the care and kindness they showed my 4-year-old daughter during her visit today. We initially came in just for a check-up because she had chipped a tooth in an accident. During the visit, his assistant mentioned how cooperative she was for a 4-year-old child. I explained that she really likes having clean teeth, especially because she often gets stains on them. Sadly, she had also experienced teasing from some of her friends at her previous nursery because of these stains. What happened next truly touched my heart. Instead of simply focusing on the chipped tooth, Dr Pravin and his team went the extra mile by taking the time and care to clean her teeth thoroughly. It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture, and I was genuinely surprised and deeply moved by the attention they gave her. Watching them care for my little girl so patiently and gently made me emotional. At just four years old, every little act of kindness can make such a big difference to a child’s confidence and happiness. Knowing that someone took the time to care not only about her dental health but also about how she feels meant more to me than words can express. As a parent, there is nothing more reassuring than seeing your child treated with genuine compassion, patience, and understanding. They made us feel welcomed, valued, and cared for, rather than just being another appointment on their schedule. This is what true professionalism and kindness look like. It is not just about treating teeth; it is about caring for the person behind the smile. Dr Pravin and his team reminded me that there are still wonderful people who genuinely love what they do and go above and beyond to make a difference in someone’s life. Thank you, Dr Pravin Prathip and your amazing team, for making my daughter’s visit such a positive experience and for putting a smile on both her face and mine. Always a professional and great experience at Antwerp Dentistry! Milena, the receptionist is warm, friendly and ever the professional! Whatever her salary is it should be doubled—immediately. Also, Dr Tarek A. is likely the best dentist in Cambridge, no question about that. That said, if anyone reading this is in need of gold standard dental treatment, head to Antwerp, you’ll be glad you did.

I attended Antwerp house Dental Surgery today. The service I received was amazing . Tory my Dentist was exceptional in reassuring me and the care she took with my treatment. She explained everything to me thoroughly and i can honestly say that this was a great experience of going to the Dentist. I have been coming to Antwerp house for over 20 year’s and have always received good service but today was exceptional and Tori and her two assistants were very professional in their approach . Are you contemplating dental implants because of loss of teeth from gum disease ? It often comes as a complete surprise when you are told that you have gum disease because this condition does not necessarily cause pain. Teeth can become loose quite suddenly without an adequate hygiene programme in place. In every mouth several hundred species of bacteria co-exist, some which cause advanced gum disease and some are responsible for serious infections around dental implants.

To protect your investment in dental implants, this risk of dental implant failure needs to be minimised.

This is a cross section of a tooth and gum to show you the debris and bacterial infection just under the gum-line. These accretions need to be thoroughly and professionally cleaned by your hygienist.

It is also vital that your implant surgeon puts into place a very tight professional hygiene programme. This will reduce infection and minimise progression of gum disease around teeth and implants. Dental Implants can be placed after a period of disease stability has been achieved. The implants themselves need to be cleaned as the accretions form around the implants as well. You will be taught how to use some special oral hygiene tools around your teeth and implants to ensure your investment in dental implants was well made.

Before you embark on your dental implant journey it is very important that our implant surgeon identifies your risk for gum disease. Scientific studies show that if you have lost teeth due to severe gum disease, you will be at increased risk of having implant infections as well. The implant surgeon must identify disease around the remaining teeth, and treat this by referral to a hygienist or a periodontist (gum specialist) before starting your implant treatment.

Other factors, such as smoking, stressful life-style, conditions such as diabetes, and use of some drugs will aggravate gum and implant disease disease (these factors are called co-morbitities) . Your implant surgeon needs to take a thorough history to ascertain all other possible co-morbidities so that you can receive the correct advice for your dental implant treatment.

It is very important to stabilise gum disease before implant therapy. Within Cambridge, Linton and Royston Implant Centres we will advise you on necessary gum treatments before embarking on your implant journey. If we feel that your gum disease is affecting your general health we will advise you appropriately and would be happy to liaise with your doctor on our findings.
