Advanced Hygiene Services

Several of our hygienists provide advanced services and work in collaboration with our Senior Clinicians and/or our Periodontal Specialist to support patients with more advanced form of gum disease associated with teeth and dental implants. Our aim is to preserve a healthy, functional  FULL dentition (natural teeth and implants) to preserve your quality of life for the rest of your life :

• Our advanced hygiene exam includes a 3D STL scan of your teeth to capture the current biometrics and micro-architecture of your gums as a baseline reference to be able to reassess speed of disease and subsequent change over years using a digital ‘time-lapse’ function
• Our advanced hygiene exam also includes assessment of high risk sites, local factors (such as overhangs and food traps) which will be reported back to your dentist for management. Our hygienist will undertake a basic assessment of systemic risk factors and collaborate with a senior clinician to plan control and risk management measures
• Basic assessment of dental crowding which may make cleaning difficult and access to a clinician who provides tooth straightening to improve gum health
• Habit assessment which may be causing gum deterioration
• Smoking risk assessment
• Assessment of fremitus (mobility of teeth) caused by strong bite forces with view to referral a senior clinician for management
